Abstract: Longnan City, Gansu Province is the main producing area ofcharacteristic olive industry in China. Most of the olives are planted in hills and mountains, key steps such as transportation, field management, and picking are “without any mechanization, or without proper mechanization”. In order to solve the technical problems of mechanized production of olives in our province, after investigating and analyzing the planting characteristics of the main olive producing areas and the topographical conditions of the orchard, a technical model of mechanized production of olives with mountain monorail transport vehicles, pastoral management machines, and mechanically assisted picking platforms as supporting equipment is proposed. After experiment and demonstration, the transportation capacity of mountain monorail transport vehicle is 11 times that of manual labor, saving 50% of transportation costs, and the picking efficiency of the mechanically assisted picking platform is 33% higher than that of pure manual picking, It has improved the quality and efficiency of olive production, meanwhile saved the cost and improved the profit.
