Analysis on satisfaction of rice planters with the adoption of pest control techniques in Jiangsu Province: Comparison based on different technology supply channels

江苏省水稻种植户对病虫害防治技术采纳满意度分析——基于不同技术供给渠道的比较

Abstract:

As an indispensable link in the process of food crop production, pest control has been paid attention to by all levels of government departments and agricultural production technology suppliers, and pest control technology has therefore produced a variety of supply channels for rice farmers to adopt. However, there is no in-depth study on whether rice farmers are satisfied with the technologies provided by various supply channels. Therefore, this paper is based on some data from China Land Economic Survey (CLES). Through Ordered Probit model, rice farmers in Jiangsu Province adopted disease and pest control technologies from different technology supply channels, and their satisfaction was analyzed. The study found that 72.37% of farmers adopted the pest control technology provided by the government, and their satisfaction with technology adoption was 91.4%. In addition, from the perspective of the overall development trend or the change trend of each supply channel, the change of such supply channel also had the most significant impact on the satisfaction of technology adoption of rice farmers. 7.46% of farmers adopted the pest control technology provided by universities and scientific research institutes, and their satisfaction with technology adoption was 91%. It can be seen that other organizations except the government public welfare technology supply channels also have a high level of satisfaction with technology adoption, but the intensity of publicity and promotion needs to be improved. Among the technology supply channels, the pest control technology provided by the government extension department is more likely to be adopted by farmers than other technology supply channels. Therefore, the balanced development of various technology supply channels also needs continuous attention.

病虫害防治作为粮食作物生产过程中必不可少的环节,得到各级政府机关部门以及农业生产技术供给主体的一致重视,也因此产生多种供给渠道供水稻种植户们采纳。但是在水稻种植户采纳各类供给渠道所提供的技术后,对其是否满意的研究还未有深究,故基于中国土地经济调查中的部分数据,通过Ordered Probit模型分析江苏省水稻种植户对不同技术供给渠道的病虫害防治技术的满意度。研究发现,有72.37%的农户采纳由政府提供的病虫害防治技术,技术采纳满意度为91.4%,无论从总体发展趋势来看,还是细化到各个供给渠道的变化趋势来看,此类供给渠道的变动也对水稻种植户的技术采纳满意度具有最显著的影响。有746%的农户采纳由高校科研院所提供的病虫害防治技术,技术采纳满意度为91%。由此可见,虽然除政府公益型技术供给渠道外的其他组织机构水稻种植户的技术采纳满意度也具有较高水准,但宣传推广的力度还有待提升。在各技术供给渠道中,政府推广部门所提供的病虫害防治技术被农户采纳的几率较其他几项技术供给渠道呈现断层式偏高,故各类技术供给渠道间的互相带动平衡发展也需要持续加以关注。
