Abstract: In the period of digital transformation, Tianjins agricultural product supply chain frequently experiences issues such as unstable cooperative relationships between main entities in the chain, high default rates, and high safety and quality risks. Incomplete contracts and uncontrolled trust expose them to the risk of failure of governance mechanisms in solving opportunistic problems. This study analyzes the connotation and characteristics of the traditional governance mechanism and the new governance mechanism of blockchain, and elaborates on the mechanism of blockchain in the traditional governance mechanism. This study also finds that the adopted governance model varies in different development stages, showing the development path from information exchange governance to behavior coordination and relationship coordination governance, coexisting with deep cooperation governance. This research provides inspiration for the governance practice of agricultural product supply chain in the period of digital transformation, and it helps the supply chain to improve the functional architecture and system design of the blockchain system in order to implement the application of a new generation of information technology in the field of agricultural product supply chain.
