Effect of different technology supply channels on farmers' satisfaction with adopting pest control technology: Based on survey data of 405 rice farmers in Jiangsu Province

Abstract: In order to explore the impact of different technology supply channels on farmers' adoption of pest control technology and improve farmers' satisfaction with pest control technology, based on the survey data of 405 rice farmers in Jiangsu Province, the binary Probit model was used for an empirical analysis. Binary Logit model and propensity score matching (PSM) were used to test robustness and solve sample selection bias. The research showed that, first of all, the pest control technology provided by different technology supply channels could positively and significantly affect farmers' satisfaction with pest control technology to different degrees. Secondly, technology supply channels of different nature had a significant positive impact on farmers' satisfaction with pest control technology at the level of 1%, and the marginal effect of business technology supply was greater than that of public service technology supply. Thirdly, among the control variables, it was found that health status and agricultural technical training had significant positive effects on farmers' satisfaction in adopting pest control technology. The age of farmers and the number of cultivated land had a significant negative effect on the satisfaction of farmers. Finally, it is proposed to accelerate the construction of a diversified agricultural technology extension system with public welfare agricultural technology extension institutions as the leading and management subjects as the supplement. Institutions such as scientific research institutes and universities are strongly encouraged to establish contacts with farmers and change the top‑down agricultural technology popularization method.

摘要: 为探究不同技术供给渠道对农户采纳病虫害防治技术的影响,提高农户病虫害防治技术满意度,基于江苏省405户水稻种植户调研数据,运用二元Probit模型进行实证分析,利用二元Logit模型、倾向得分匹配法(PSM)进行稳健性检验和解决样本选择偏差问题。研究表明,首先,不同技术供给渠道提供的病虫害防治技术均能在不同程度上正向显著影响农户对病虫害防治技术的满意度;其次,不同性质的技术供给渠道均在1%的水平上显著正向影响农户病虫害防治技术满意度,并且经营型技术供给比公益型技术供给所带来的边际效应更大;再次,控制变量中发现,健康状况、农业技术培训均显著正向影响农户采纳病虫害防治技术满意度;农户的年龄、耕地块数均显著负向影响农户满意度。最后,提出要加快构建以公益型农技推广机构为主导,经营型主体为补充的多元化的农业技术推广体系;大力鼓励高校科研院所等机构建立与农户之间的联系,改变自上而下的农业技术推广方式。
